Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

Last Friday was Kindness Day, and we were treated to a lovely assembly by the children in Year 1/2. They shared the acrostic poem they had created as a class, and sang a special song about kindness and being kind. Congratulations 1/2 TB, and thank you for sharing such important messages.

Year 6 Camp
Kapinara was a little quieter between Wednesday and Friday last week, as the Year 6 students headed off to camp at Dwellingup. There were some very tired young people (and some very tired adults!) who returned to Kapinara on Friday afternoon!

Kapinara Business Plan, the School Board and Surveys
Last week I sent an email to all families, with a link to a Parent Survey, and a request for your input regarding our school and focuses of our next three-year business plan. I understand the survey was actually quite quick and easy to complete. Thank you to those who have already completed it!  If you haven’t yet, I strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to provide us with feedback and to tell us what matters most to you and your family moving forward.

This survey is/was completed anonymously, but we are keen to involve some of you further – particularly if you have expertise or a particular interest in one or more of the big ideas (potential key focuses for our next business plan) identified in the survey. Within the next day or so I will email a very simple form to be completed, if this sounds like something you might be involved in.

I will also be calling for nominations for the School Board. The Board plays a key role in terms of informing the development of our Business Plan, monitoring its implementation and associated milestones, progress and achievements. I will include a nomination form in my email.

Thank you for making time to complete our survey and to consider contributing to the direction of school at this strategic level.

Best wishes
Elizabeth Blackwell

National Recycling Week at Kapinara

Thank you so much for all those who collected their soft plastics last week. We collected a whole bag of soft plastics recycling which has been taken to a local collection point through a scheme run by the REDcycle program. We will continue collecting next week so look out for the bright yellow bin and put your chip packets, lolly wrappers, muesli bar wrappers, plastic bags and clean cling wrap into it.

2022 Kindy Information Session

Parents of 2022 Kindy students are invited to attend a parent information session on Friday 19 November 2021 between 9:00 and 10.30am. The session will offer you an opportunity to hear about the Kindergarten program and how you can support your child’s smooth start to school, and will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions. You will also have an opportunity to meet our P&C President Kate Marquis and our uniform shop co-ordinator Caryss Bidesi. This session will be held in the school library.
