School Board

The Kapinara Primary School Board plays an important role in supporting the strategic direction and ongoing success of our school. Working collaboratively with the Principal, staff and wider school community, the Board helps ensure that students are provided with high-quality educational opportunities in a positive, inclusive and future-focused learning environment.

The Board represents the interests of the school community and supports the school’s vision, values and long-term planning through effective governance and community partnership.

What the Board does

In practice, the Board:

  • Promotes the school within the community and engages in matters that affect student learning and wellbeing
  • Reviews and approves key items such as school contributions and charges, booklists, sponsorship arrangements and the student dress code
  • Assists in setting and reviewing the school’s objectives, priorities and general policy directions
  • Monitors progress against the school’s Business Plan and reviews school performance information to support continuous improvement

The Board does not manage the day-to-day operations of the school. This responsibility sits with the Principal.

Board Membership

The School Board includes the Principal, staff representatives and community members. In line with legislation, parents and community representatives make up the majority of members.

We aim to include a broad range of perspectives that reflect the diversity of our school community. All parent and community members are required to complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check in accordance with Department of Education requirements.

We thank all Board members for their ongoing contribution, commitment and support of our school community.
