Message from the Acting Principal

Dear Parents

I would like to introduce myself; I am the relieving Principal for Mrs Blackwell while she is on short-term personal leave. I am an experienced Principal of 30 years and am very happy to be here, in your school community, until Mrs Blackwell’s return. Kapinara is a fabulous school with a wonderful reputation that spreads far beyond the community. I am looking forward to working with the staff and the whole community.

Kind regards
Simon

ANZAC Day Commemoration Service

The Year Three cohort and their teachers would like to sincerely thank the Kapinara community for bringing in such beautiful flowers and greenery for the flower wreaths which formed an integral part of the service.

They were incredibly beautiful and made into such wonderful wreaths by fantastic parent volunteers, many of whom stepped up to make the wreaths at the last minute. Thank you all for having such amazing creative talents.

We would also like to thank all those who came to the service. The weather was kind to us and it was lovely to welcome so many for such an important occasion.

Thank you all once again
Gemma Hopetoun-Smith

ANZAC Day Parade & Remembrance Ceremony

Our Student Councillors were fortunate enough to be invited the ANZAC Parade and Remembrance ceremony hosted by the Town of Cambridge and RSL Cambridge Sub Branch. A special event certainly to be remembered by the councillors.

Friday’s Assembly

At this week’s assembly, we will be treated with a performance by the choir. Students do not need to wear a choir uniform for this performance, just their normal school uniform.

Running Club

Please note that the Running Club time for the Monday session has been permanently changed to 7.45am to 8.30am. Thursday’s session remains at 3.10pm-3.55pm.

Canteen – Now Open Three Days a Week

Good news! The canteen will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting next week, Tuesday 2nd of May. We have welcomed Janine VanNiekerk to the team and Katharine Browne is returning from maternity leave.

The prices in the canteen will rise from next week. This is due to the increase in supply costs and having two paid staff each day.

Volunteers are still welcome. This will enable us to provide more variety and fresh food options. Please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/LPZXQvA

Please keep an eye on the ‘News’ tab in QuickCliq. We will start posting updates to the canteen menu there.
