COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS
Please be respectful of our neighbour’s properties. We depend on our neighbours to watch out for antisocial and/or suspicious behaviour onsite, out of school hours. We also consider them to be part of our broader community.
Please DO NOT PARK ACROSS THE DRIVEWAYS of any property at any time. These families need to get to work and school just as we do and may also need to leave their homes in an emergency situation.
If arriving at school two minutes later than planned means that we keep our children safe and our relationships with our neighbours positive, then the two minutes is a good investment.
SCHOOL PHOTO DAY IS COMING! 30 & 31 March
Two weeks prior to the photo day every student will receive a personalised flyer to bring home from Kapture Photography containing your child’s unique codes for ordering school photos online.
KEEP YOUR FLYER SECURE! The unique codes contained on the flyer will be issued only once.
Order EARLY for sibling photography
Sibling photos can ONLY be ordered online. Once you receive the personalised flyers for your children, it is imperative that you order your sibling photo early to avoid missing out! There is a physical limit in the school schedule to how many sibling photos can be taken. Once the maximum capacity of sibling orders has been reached, no more sibling orders can be placed. If maximum capacity is not reached, sibling orders close 12pm midday sharp, one business day prior to the first photo day.The school or the photographers cannot accept late orders for sibling photography. Please do not ask as your request simply cannot be accommodated.
Order EARLY for discount photo day prices
Order your photos within 10 calendar days of photo day to receive discount photo day prices. Late orders are handled separately to the school delivery and incur a $30 custom service charge.

Protective Behaviours for Pre-Primary, Year 1 and Year 2
As many of you will be aware, for the last few years Kapinara students have participated in a series of five Protective Behaviours sessions. Protective Behaviours’ learning focuses on empowering children with the strategies and skills they need in order to feel safe, be safe and stay safe. The ultimate aim of Protective Behaviours is to protect children from abuse, and the teaching of Protective Behaviours is mandatory for public schools. If you are interested in learning more about Protective Behaviours, further information can be found at https://www.protectivebehaviourswa.org.au/what-we-teach
Ms Ali Fisher will be presenting the sessions again this year for children from Pre-Primary to Year 2. Kindergarten students will do a small program with Ms Ali Fisher in Term 4. Teachers are present during the lessons, ensuring they are in a position to follow-up and support the children in their class. Ali will also send home written notes outlining what the focus of the lesson has been on a given day, so that you are also in a position to follow up with your child or children.
As with all matters, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above. Thank you for supporting the programs and initiatives at Kapinara.
Road Safety Reminder
Please help us to reinforce the following passenger and pedestrian safety messages:
- children should exit and enter cars from the CURBSIDE only
- children exiting/entering cars and crossing roads at drop-off and pick-up times
- should wait to be accompanied across the road by an adult
- (most are easily distracted, particularly if they see their friends on the other side)
- children must stop and look before crossing the driveway entrance to the staff carpark on Catesby St
- the staff carpark and driveway are OUT OF BOUNDS for anyone other than staff, delivery and service vehicles,
- and anyone requiring access to the ACROD (disabled parking) bay
Community
TheirCare- Exploring colours through different mediums.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been busy exploring colours through different mediums such as foam, dough, slimes, and paint at TheirCare Kapinara. This is a good opportunity for us to spark the children’s curiosity, develop skills such as eye-hand coordination, sharing, cooperation and practise creative independence. Allowing children to mix colours on their own also allows them to make their own choices and develop their confidence.
Come and join us in creating more beautiful artworks together!
