Message from the Principal
Dear Families
Welcome back. I hope that everyone enjoyed the break in school routine for a couple of weeks, but perhaps welcomed the return to routine by the end of the vacation period. This vacation period was particularly significant for one of our staff members. Congratulations to Year 3 teacher (formerly) Miss Lauren Filov, who has returned to school Mrs Lauren Tsironis. I’m sure you join with the staff, student and I in wishing Lauren and her husband James (also a teacher) every happiness for the future.
Also in breaking news, we now have soft flooring in the undercover area! An enormous thanks to the P & C and everyone who has supported their endeavours. This is a huge investment in terms of P & C funding, and probably the most exciting with the exception of the playgrounds. THANK YOU! We waited patiently for the blue marine-grade carpet to be available, and it looks fabulous. When you are next at school please drop by and take a look … and yes, we ensured that the surface would work well for Physical Education activities.
Term 4 always seems to pass in a flash, irrespective of whatever we put in place to mitigate the momentum gained each week. If you feel the pace increasing, take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that this is simply one of four terms. Swimming lessons commence tomorrow for students from Pre-Primary to Year 4. Please label everything – goggles and rashies are costly to replace and no-one will ever own up to lost underwear! The Year 6 students are off to camp from Wednesday to Friday, and we wish them good weather and many opportunities to create some unique and lasting memories. We have several assemblies this term. You’ll recall that we combined classes to ensure each class had an opportunity to host an assembly. . Please note that our annual Book Fair held in the school library, is scheduled for Week 4, the week beginning 31 October.
Best wishes
Elizabeth

Head Lice
NOW IS THE TIME TO ERADICATE NITS!!!
Nits (Head lice) are common in the community and in schools. We have been advised of a case in our junior primary. Please check your child’s hair for any signs of lice. Further information can be found through the link below
The school and department policy on affected students is that they are sent home to be treated and may return once treatment has begun.

Students not returning
Thank you to the parents who are contacting us if their children will not be returning next year. It is very helpful information for our planning, particularly in terms of budgeting, and structuring classes.
