Looking forward to seeing our choir and orchestra students perform tomorrow night at the Soirée!
As it will be a full house tomorrow night, all performing children will be sitting at the front of the auditorium and be collected from this front area at the conclusion of the concert.

Year 3 Perth Zoo Excursion

Thursday 4 August dawned dark and stormy, but the intrepid Year2/3D, 3F and 3H classes set forth on a great zoo adventure.
We saw many animals like the Sumatran Tiger, Asian Elephant, regal Lionesses, dingoes, kangaroos, emus and Komodo dragons, as well as flying penguins catching fish!
We all had a wonderful day and wish we could visit every day!!

Mrs Hopetoun-Smith, Miss Filov, Miss Carey and Miss DeBrass would like to sincerely thank the following parents for giving up their day to accompany us:- Mrs Cleeve-Edwards, Mrs Aron, Ms Clyne, Mrs Malesic, Mr Lees, Mrs Houghton, Mrs Thepanier, Ms Do, Mrs Mathwin, Mrs Pilkington and Mrs Webb.

Year 2T Incursion

On Thursday 4 August, Astrid’s aunty, Ms Charles and her cousin Thomas came to our class to teach us about bees. Ms Charles, who is a beekeeper, told us some interesting things about bees and let us taste honeycomb.

  • We learnt that bees eat royal jelly to get bigger.
  •  In a beehive there is one queen bee, 80% worker bees (which are the female bees) and 20% drones (which are the male bees).
  • Bees have 5 eyes, 6 legs and 2 stomachs
  • One bee makes 1/12 teaspoon of honey in its lifetime
  • Bees live for 6 weeks, except the queen bee that lives 1- 5 years
  • Bees give us free honey
  • Bees are needed for our survival

It was sweet learning about bees!
