ANZAC Day Ceremony

We hope you have had a chance to view the performance of our students at our ANZAC ceremony last Friday. What a wonderful service it was. Many thanks to Mrs Hopetoun-Smith, Miss Filov, Mrs deBrass and the Year 3 students for researching and presenting this special commemorative event. We would also like to thank the following for their valued contributions:

Mrs Davey and the Pre-Primary – Year 2 teachers for helping the children learn the song; families for their floral contributions; parent volunteers who made the poppies and created the wreaths; Jo Coveney for her rendition of the ‘Last Post’ and the Rouse; and our special guests, Leading Aircraftman Andrew Heath and Wing Commander Grant Taylor, who were not only part of the service but also subsequently spoke with the Year 3 students. Thank you J

Scribblers Festival – 5/6 May 2021

We are thrilled that the Year 3 -5 students will once again be attending the Scribblers Festival of Children’s Literature, to be held at the Subiaco Arts Centre & the Regal Theatre in Week 3 of Term 2. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to meet published authors and illustrators and find out the ‘stories behind the stories’. Permission notes have been sent home and need to be returned to class teachers by 27 April.

Student Updates

Student update forms will be sent home with your child/ren this week. It is important that the information held is correct. Please check these forms carefully and return to the note drawers if there are corrections. Forms do not need to be returned if all information is correct.

Points to Note

  • We currently have one or two people in our community who are not required to wear a mask due to a Health exemption.
  • We also have a parent who needs to use the ACROD bay in the staff carpark off Catesby St in the afternoon for a number of weeks
  • Please remember that it is illegal and dangerous to drive onto the wrong side of the road to drop off children in the morning. We have noticed cars, in particular 4WDs doing this on more than one occasion and driving up onto the footpath where our students ride their bikes. Please keep our children safe.
