Parent/Teacher Meetings and School Closure

As part of the Kapinara Primary School Communication Policy, in 2024 we gained endorsement from the School Board and permission from the Department of Education to close the school for half a day for Parent/Teacher Interviews, so teachers can meet with Parents/Carers for 10 minutes for an update on their child’s progress. The school will close at noon and students will be dismissed to go home.

These have been scheduled for Week 8, Thursday 27 March commencing at 1:00pm and concluding at 5.50pm.

We will have an early recess that morning at 10:40 am.  We encourage all families to pick up their child/ren. Students who can not be picked up will be supervised.  Please ensure your child/children do not return to school to play unsupervised in the quadrangle or on the oval. Should you need to access supervision for your child/ren, Their Care will open its bookings from 12.00noon for out of school care. Bookings can be made via the following link  Schools – TC, selection “Book Now” either register or login if you’re already a client of TheirCare.

Please look out for communications from class teachers. The interview booking system is now open and will close Tuesday 25 March at 3pm. Book your parent teacher meeting.

To manage this time frame efficiently there are limited 10-minute time slots, which will be allocated on a first in basis. However, we are aware that some parents/carers will not be able to attend on this day due to various reasons. To accommodate the shortfall and parent/carer availability please contact the class teacher/s by email to negotiate an alternate day/time, should you still require an interview if you have not secured a place.

While it is expected that anyone coming into to the school will sign in and sign out electronically at the office, on this occasion this is not practicable. You will be able to go to directly to your child’s classroom.

Parents/Carers are reminded that they are welcome to contact their child/ren’s teachers at any time throughout the year to request a meeting.

Warm regards,
Natalie Oddy
Principal, Kapinara Primary School

Harmony Day

Friday 21 March is Harmony Day, we encourage students to wear something orange to celebrate and promote cultural harmony. Whether it’s a hair tie, ribbon, t-shirt, shorts, or anything else orange, your child can show their support for this important symbol of unity across different cultures. Let’s come together and make this day full of vibrant colours and positive energy.

Thank you for your support.

Term Planner

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Parent Term Planner, designed to help you stay up to date with important dates and events throughout the school year.

Term 1 is now live, and we encourage you to take a look at all the key dates for this term. Term 2 will be up soon, so be sure to check back for updates. It can be found under the tab Parent Information > What’s on When > Term Planners

Please remember to regularly check the planner for any date changes or important updates as they may occur throughout the year.

We hope this tool helps you stay organized and engaged with all the exciting happenings at school
