Kapinara has placed first in Interschool Athletics for the second year in a row! This fabulous achievement is due to the students’ passion for athletics and their continued commitment to training and improving their own individual performances.
We had so many students produce personal bests, as well as win ribbons at the carnival. There are actually too many to mention them all. As a team the students demonstrated great sportsmanship, and strength and depth in their abilities. The Kapinara team was led by our dedicated Faction Leaders who contributed greatly on the day by getting students organised and giving encouragement.
Our Championship winners were Scarlett M (Yr 3), Billie M (Yr 4) and Xavier M (Yr 5). Runner up Champion was George V (Yr3).
Stand-out wins came from our girls and boys super relay teams – the Year 5 Boys, Year 3 Boys and Year 4 Girls relay teams. Team wins in Tacticball came from the Year4 Girls team and the Year3 Boys team. Long distance runs (800m) were won by Meg W, Xavier M and Billie M. Field event wins included the Triple Jump by Billie M, Xavier M and Arata S. Scarlett M, Billie M and Xavier M produced Long Jump wins.
A special mention has to go to Billie M who accumulated 66 championship points, winning 7 out of the 8 events she took part in.
