Kapinara Soirée

The Kapinara Primary School orchestra and choir students brought Paul Latham Auditorium to life last Wednesday evening, 10 August.
The feedback was that it was ‘the best Soirée yet’, as the children sang and played their hearts out! They bought a tear to our eyes!! (especially Mrs Davey’s!)

Despite all the obstacles faced by the recent climate, the performers pulled together such a high-quality concert! The orchestra was just absolutely outstanding, the Year 6 performers performed like they were something off the television and the choir lifted the roof.. as always!

Special thanks to all our amazing performers, instrumental teachers, staff, parents, Year 5 stage-hands and the amazing Year 6 Music Leaders!

Science Week

Students in Year PP – Year 2 are celebrating Science Week by doing a science experiment each day.

Today in Year 2T, the children had a talk by Karen W who is a Geologist (William’s mum) who is involved in mining. She presented a Power Point on many aspects of mining and showed us many interesting rocks including gold! The children gained an understanding of the drilling process by using a tube to drill into playdoh to find some copper and made a lemon fizzy drink!

ICAS Schedule

ICAS will be completed during school hours this year, although Science will take place on the School Development Day. They will take place as follows:

Week 5 (this week) English:  Wednesday, 17 August 9:00 – 10:00 am
Week 6(SDD) Science:   Monday, 22 August  9:30 – 10:30 am
Week 7 Maths:     Wednesday, 31 August   9:00 – 10:00 am
