2024 Kindy Applications

Applications for our 2024 Kindergarten Program are now open.

Kindergarten is a non-compulsory school-based educational program which is available to all children in the year in which they turn four by June 30. In 2024 Kindergarten students will attend school for 15 hours per week. The program is run on a part-time basis by qualified Early Childhood teachers and education assistants.

Our Green Group students attend Kindy on Mondays, Wednesdays and every alternate Friday.
Our Yellow Group students attend Kindy on Tuesdays, Thursdays and every alternate Friday.

Group preference nomination forms are sent out with the Kindy Offers.

You can apply to enrol your child at Kapinara Primary if we are not your local public school, however out of area positions are very limited and offers would depend on the number of applications we receive by the closing date. We can advise you prior to the closing date if we believe that you should consider other options to ensure you do not miss out on a position in the local area.

If your child is a temporary resident, make sure you read the information available on the education department website Enrol your child if they are not an Australian citizen.

Follow these easy steps to enrol your child:

Step 1
Download the 2024 Application form

Application form

Step 2
Submit your application for enrolment either in person or via email by 28 July 2023 along with copies of:

  • your child’s birth certificate
  • your child’s Immunisation History Statement
  • proof of your current address (such as a recent electricity, water, telephone or bank statement)
  • copies of Family Court orders for confirmation of proof of name or custody arrangements.

Step 3
You will receive a letter in August 2024 once the application processes are completed advising if your application has been successful.

Applying for Kindergarten

Western Australia now has immunisation laws that will help to better protect our children and the wider community from vaccine-preventable diseases.

When you enrol your child in Kindergarten you will need to provide your child’s current Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement, which shows your child is ‘up-to-date’ with all the scheduled immunisations (according to the National Immunisation Program) for their age. This Statement must be no more than 2 months old.

If you would like to know more about the immunisation requirements, obtaining an AIR Immunisation History Statement or how to access immunisation services go to HealthyWA.

In most cases, your child will be offered a place at your local public school or a community kindergarten linked to your local school. However, if the number of Kindergarten enrolment applications exceeds the number of places available, you may be referred to a nearby kindergarten that has places available. Every effort is made to accommodate your child in a school as close as possible to your home.
