Students in Year PP – Year 2 are celebrating Science Week by doing a science experiment each day.

In Year 2T, the children had a talk by Karen W who is a Geologist (William’s mum) who is involved in mining. She presented a Power Point on many aspects of mining and showed us many interesting rocks including gold! The children gained an understanding of the drilling process by using a tube to drill into playdoh to find some copper and made a lemon fizzy drink!

- We made slime.
- Observed what happens when different coloured ‘smarties’ are arranged around the edge of a bowl and covered with water.
- We made a kaleidoscope as a part of the ‘Glass’ theme this year.

The Green Gravel Incursion during Science Week was fascinating! We were incredibly inspired by Jane & Jurgen and the work they are doing to help our marine life. We discovered amazing information about the Great Southern Reef and the role of the Golden Kelp. Creating our green gravel was fun!
