Principals Message
Dear Kapinara Community,
I hope you all had a restful and joyful break, filled with laughter, relaxation, and perhaps a little too much chocolate. It’s been wonderful seeing our students return refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning and growth.
We’re kicking off Term 2 with a special event—our ANZAC Day Assembly, which will be held tomorrow at 9:15am in the new location of the grassed area outside the admin building. This important occasion will be hosted by our Year 3 students and Year 6 student leaders, as we come together to reflect and honour the service and sacrifice of others.
We’re looking forward to another fantastic term ahead at Kapinara. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support.
Warm regards,
Natalie Oddy
Principal
ANZAC Day Service – 2 May 2025
The school’s ANZAC service will be held on Friday, 2nd May 2025, at 9:15 AM on the front lawn outside the administration building, near our new flagpoles (weather dependent). This will be hosted by the Year 3 classes.
Thank you to all families who have contributed flowers, ivy, and greenery from their gardens to create the flower wreaths for the service.
Term 1 Interschool Science Competition

Kapinara Primary Students Shine at Term 1 Interschool Science Competition
On Friday, 21st March, a team of talented Kapinara Primary students from Years 3 to 6 took part in the Term 1 interschool science competition hosted at Churchlands High School. This year’s theme, “Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language,” offered a unique opportunity for students to delve into the mysteries of science and the natural world.
Students participated in a variety of events designed to challenge their critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. From decoding patterns in nature to exploring the scientific principles behind everyday phenomena, the competition was an engaging celebration of curiosity and discovery.
Kapinara students impressed with their enthusiasm, creativity, and ability to tackle complex challenges, embodying the spirit of the theme. Their dedication in preparing for the event was evident, and their respectful collaboration with peers from other schools was a credit to our community.
A big thank you to the teachers and families who supported the students in the lead-up to the event and throughout the day. It’s wonderful to see our students embracing opportunities to learn and grow in such meaningful ways.
Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding efforts! Kapinara is proud of your achievements, and we look forward to celebrating more successes in the future.
Please enjoy the photos from this memorable day!
Interschool Swimming Carnival

In our last newsletter, we missed two outstanding achievements—our apologies!
Michael E set a new state record in the Year 6 Boys 50m Freestyle—what an incredible feat.
Cooper L was awarded Year 5 Runner-Up Boy—a fantastic effort.
Well done to both swimmers on their amazing accomplishments.
