Year 6 Fair – (Years PP-6)
The Year 6 Fair is coming up, which is one of the most exciting events of the year! The Year 6 Fair is on Tuesday 12 September, in Week 9. The Fair will be held in the undercover area, with all the stalls inside. On the day, Year 5 students will collect classes to attend.
There are service stalls to play games and win tickets as well as product stalls where you can buy tasty treats! If you do win raffle tickets, you can head to the prize table to exchange them for some awesome prizes.
Students are asked to bring no more than $10.00 – $15.00 to spend on the stalls at the fair.
All the money raised by the fair is donated back to Kapinara Primary School.
Faction Carnival Report
We had a beautiful sunny day for our Faction Athletics Carnival held last Tuesday 29August. The students began the day with nominated jumps and throwing events followed by the faction march onto the top oval. It was great to see and hear each faction chanting and cheering and excited for the day ahead. The atmosphere they created was electric.
It was a fantastic community event with outstanding teacher and parent support and amazing athletic performances throughout the day. Kindy to Year 2 students had an exciting morning of sprints and games, while the Years 3 to 6 children put on some of their own personal best performances and proud podium moments.
I would like to thank all the families who came to cheer on the children. A special thank you to the volunteers who gave up their time to help run events, and to the staff for the important role they played in making the day a success. We must also thank the P&C for organising the cake stall and special lunch – it was a real treat.

Volunteers
We thank all our parents who generously volunteer their time and energy to support our school community. There are some changes to the Working with Children Check policy, to ensure the safety of children when we have volunteers in the school.
If you would like to volunteer at our school, you will need to sign a ‘Parent and child volunteer declaration form’. You cannot volunteer if you have a current Working with Children Negative Notice or Interim Negative Notice.
These changes affect parents who are engaged in volunteer work. For example, you are considered a volunteer when you assist with activities such as reading sessions, day excursions, canteen duties, helping at a sports carnival or carrying out P&C duties.
You are not a volunteer when:
- picking up and dropping off your child
- observing events like school assemblies
- attending parent and teacher interviews
- visiting the uniform shop.
If your circumstances change, and you are issued with a Negative Notice or Interim Negative Notice after completing the ‘Parent and child volunteer declaration form’, you must advise the principal.
A current Working with Children Check is required by all other family members and friends over 18 years of age who want to volunteer. It is a collective responsibility to ensure the safety of our children. We appreciate your ongoing support and dedication to our school community.
