Free public transport for school students-updated information
The Ride to School Free Program starts Monday 5 February 2024. Find all the details on the Transperth website.
In the metropolitan area and in towns where Smartriders are used, students with a valid Student SmartRider will be able to travel for free on Transperth or Transregional services for any journey Monday to Friday, until the end of the school year.
Students must tag on and off each journey to receive the free travel or they will receive a default fare. If their SmartRider goes into a negative balance as a result, they will not have access to free travel.
Fare-free Sundays
Fare-free Sundays will be available to everyone with a valid SmartRider card. Fare-free Sundays start on 4 February.
Students who don’t have SmartRiders
If a student does not have a SmartRider they will be allowed to travel for free without a valid ticket, however, from 1 March students must have their Student SmartRider to travel for free, or purchase a cash ticket.

Winter Netball 2024
All students from Y2-6 are invited to register their interest to play competition netball at Matthews Netball Centre in Jolimont as part of a Kapinara team.
Years 2 – 4/5 will play on either Thursday or Friday afternoons and Years 5 – 6 on Saturdays. Season starts 3/4 May.
Numbers are required to allocate teams into the competition. Please note, priority will be given to existing players in existing teams but we will do our best to allocate any new players to new or existing teams. Please email your interest for any new players only (existing players through your teams please) with your child’s name and year level by Friday 23 February to: Nicole Belbin at kapinaranetball@gmail.com
Without volunteers this competition can’t happen. We appreciate any parents who can help coordinate teams and either coach or manage to also register their interest. Many thanks. Nicole
