Principals Message

Last night, we celebrated our Year 6 Graduation in the Undercover Area at Kapinara Primary School. It was a truly memorable evening, marking a significant milestone for our students as they prepare to embark on their high school journeys. Each student had the chance to reflect on their time at Kapinara, sharing their thoughts and memories with an audience of 250 family members and friends.

The evening was filled with heartfelt moments and served as a fitting farewell for our remarkable students. A special thank you goes to our dedicated Year 6 teachers, Kylie Lund and Dean Hodgson, who devoted countless hours to planning, rehearsing, and creating this meaningful event.

Congratulations, Year 6! We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and can’t wait to see the amazing paths you will forge in the future.

Staffing

As the year comes to a close, we prepare to bid farewell to some of our dedicated staff members while looking forward to welcoming new faces in 2025. We extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to the following staff:

  • Yuki Murooka, our valued mainstream education assistant.
  • Mel Caley, our school chaplain, who is relocating to Esperance.
  • Rachel Berry, our classroom teacher, who is transitioning to retirement to spend quality time with her family and new grandson overseas.

We also wish a wonderful break to those who will be taking leave in 2025:

  • Aleisha Niebieszczanski, Deputy Principal
  • Wendy Tusak, Classroom Teacher
  • Mark McGuffin, Japanese Teacher
  • Nina Loleva, Classroom Teacher
  • Sarina Davey, Music Teacher

We thank all of these remarkable individuals for their contributions to our school community and wish them joy and success in the year ahead.

On a personal note, I would like to bid farewell to all our Kapinara families. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of your community this semester and to get to know our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. Thank you for making this time so special. I wish you all a joyful and safe Christmas break filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Principal

Free Dress Day – Last Day of School

On Thursday 12th December, students are invited to wear casual dress to celebrate the fantastic year we’ve had! This is a wonderful opportunity to wrap up the year in a fun and relaxed way.

We look forward to seeing everyone’s bright smiles and colourful outfits as we end the school year on a high note!

Year 6 Graduation 2024

Ms Lund, Mr Hodgson would like to sincerely thank our class parents who have helped with the Graduation planning and preparation and the many other events throughout the year. A special thanks to the whole Yearbook Team for their wonderful 2024 Year Books.

Semester 2 Reports

School reports were emailed out. Action is required as the link is only active for 4 weeks.

  • Download the report
  • Save the report to an appropriate file

Year 5 families: this report will be requested by High Schools to support your child’s application next year. Due to the very high number of requests we receive to resend reports, we would appreciate if you could ensure the reports are saved prior to the link expiry.

Chaplain Chat

It’s with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I write today…

After 15 years of chaplaincy in Perth, including 3 years at Kapinara, my husband and I have made the decision to start a new adventure by moving to Esperance in 2025! Given the impracticality of an 8-hour commute, I have resigned from my position as chaplain at KPS (and Osborne PS) as at the end of this year, but hope to stay in touch through colleagues and friends. I’ll cherish the memories I have of my time at Kapinara; thank you for including me in your wonderful community.

Melissa Caley
YouthCARE Chaplain
