End of Year Concert – Disney on the Grass

Dear Parents,
The children of Kapinara Primary will be putting on the annual End-of-Year Showcase. This year our theme is…. Disney on the Grass!
Children from Kindy – Year 6, Orchestra and Choir will all perform some of our favourite songs from this iconic genre. Please bring a picnic rug, pack a picnic and come and join us. We hope to see you and your families and friends there.
Date: Wednesday, 7 December 2022
Place: Kapinara Primary School – Adjacent to the Senior Playground
Times:
Dress Rehearsal: On the Day 1pm
Students will perform a whole school rehearsal on the day at 1pm. To save wear and tear on the costumes, this will be performed in uniform.
Performance: 5.30pm – 6.30pm
(Children arrive at 5.10pm to be seated in their classes at the front)

Students should arrive fully dressed in their costumes at 5.10pm
COSTUMES
Kindies – It’s a Small World
Traditional dress from around the world
Pre-Primaries – Zippidee Dooda
Blue clothes. They will make bluebird hats in class
Year 1s – Let’s Go Fly a Kite (Mary Poppins)
T shirt. Preferably light blue (sky colour) or yellow. If possible, with a kite drawn on it….but that is only a suggestion.
Shorts of any colour.
Year 2s – Chim Chiminee (Mary Poppins)
1 white T shirt. If possible….very dirty, black patches, bit holey….look as if it’s covered in soot!
1 pair of dark (preferably black or dark navy blue ….if possible….) shorts.
Face paint….black ….very light ( so it comes off !) ….to look as if they are covered in soot
Year 2/3D & Year 3H – Bare Necessities (The Jungle Book)
Jungle Animals (please make sure they can sing and dance in it)
3F & 4BJ – Akuna Matata (Lion King)
Animals of the African Savana (please make sure they can sing and dance in it)
4/5ZC & 4/5P – You’re Welcome (Moana)
Hawaiian – eg, colourful clothes, flower necklace, Hawaiian shirts, board shorts etc.
6L & 6W – We Don’t Talk About Bruno (Encanto)
Spanish & South American-inspired clothing
Eg. Girls – long, colourful flowy dresses
Boys – flowy tops
The costumes can definitely be home-made or maybe something you already own. It does not need to be too extravagant as the main focus will be on the children’s beautiful singing and dancing.
