P&C News Week One

Canteen Roster:

To assist the volunteer requirements of the P&C Canteen, each class group from PP to Year 6 is allocated three or four weeks per year. We ask that eight parents from each class group volunteer in the Canteen during the allocated week (4 half shifts on Tuesday and 4 half shifts on Thursday). This system enables parents to enjoy a shift in the Canteen with fellow class parents. Parents are also welcome to volunteer on any day that suits, even if it is not in their allocated week. Canteen volunteers are always welcome!

We cannot run the canteen without the help of our volunteers. Each class needs to have all shifts filled by Friday morning the week prior to their allocated canteen week. If shifts are not all filled for the week, the canteen closes on those days. You are welcome to volunteer even if it is not your allocated week for your child’s class, we really do appreciate the help the canteen receives from volunteers and can’t run it without you!

Canteen shifts are either half shifts from 8.45am-10.45am or 10.45-1pm, or a full shift 8.45-1pm. Parents volunteering for a half shift receive a free recess for their child, and those volunteering for a full shift receive a free lunch for their child.

Kapinara Sundowner:

Parent Reps Needed!

Please consider supporting the P&C by volunteering as a Parent Representative for your child’s class or year. It doesn’t take a huge amount of time, and it’s a great way of getting to know other families. Sign up sheets will be up in the main quad from Monday. There are two types of Parent Rep required, and guidance will be provided. Contact kapinarafamilies@gmail.comwith any questions.

  1. Admin Rep for your class (1 per class): Review and keep your class contact list updated (starter list provided by the P&C – this is used for all P&C communications for events such as the Sundowner and Quiz Night as well as canteen and uniform shop); help co-ordinate volunteers when your class is rostered on canteen (2-3x year) + cake stall fundraiser (1x year); share reminders from your teacher as required.
  2. Social Rep (1-2 per year group): Plan a few social events to keep your year group connected and engaged – as simple as icy poles after school.

The P&C AGM is on Tuesday 18th February at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
