Open Classrooms Event

Thank you for visiting yesterday.
It was wonderful to be able to welcome families into our classrooms to see some evidence of fabulous learning, and to share with you the classroom environments where children spend their days.

Our Kindy students have their own special times today, and tomorrow. We look forward to sharing some more special efforts and achievements in the weeks and months ahead as we prepare for our Faction Carnival, Arts Night, Soiree and end of year concert.

Orchestra and Instrumental Lessons

Due to the Faction Athletics carnival coming up on Wednesday 2nd September, there will be no orchestra before school on this day. Guitar and cello lessons that run on Wednesday will also not be held.  Rehearsal and lessons will resume Week 8.

Could instrumental students also please have a check of their books. One of our cello students is their missing books/diary. Could you please drop them into the office if they are located. Thank you.

School Banking

For the new families at Kapinara, we participate in the Commonwealth Bank School Banking Program.  The program offers students a fun and interactive way to save money.   School banking day is Wednesday morning from 8.30am downstairs where the uniform shop is.  To get involved in the program your child needs to have a CBA Youth saver account.  This can be done online by visiting and click on the ‘Open Now’ link to open the Youthsaver account.  Once you have received your welcome pack (takes about 5 days) you can start depositing straight away.  (Please note: When you wish to make your first withdrawal from any CBA branch, you will need to provide your child’s birth certificate and drivers licence for identification)
If your child has an existing Youthsaver account they can start banking straight away.  Just bring their account details on School banking day.  For every 10 deposits made, students can redeem a reward item.  Current rewards available include handballs, textas, key rings, scratch cards, soccer ball, drink bottle, tomato seedlings, fun activity books and many more. By making regular weekly deposits, not only does your child benefit but the school ALSO receives a commission.

For those students who made at least one deposit in term 1:
Due to the pause of the school banking program, CBA acknowledge that students were unable to make deposits in the usual way and therefore missed out on receiving tokens for their deposits.  CBA have decided to give active School Banking students an ex-gratia reward item. This means that any bankers who completed a deposit in Term 1 will be eligible to receive a reward without needing the 10 tokens. Please see Thanh to redeem the reward.
Parents, spare deposit slips are always available.  If the bank books have been forgotten, your children can come with their money and the deposit can still be processed.

Please email the school banking coordinator at or visit the school website for more information.
