Crazy Hair Day
On behalf of the Student Councillors we would like to thank everyone who participated in and donated to our Crazy Hair Day fundraiser. We raised over $492.00. All of the proceeds went to the Go Foundation. This organisation empowers and creates opportunities for Indigenous youth through education. The Go Foundation also upholds similar values to those Kapinara hopes to instil in its students, one being integrity.
We wish all families a happy, healthy and safe holiday. We are looking forward to another successful semester.

Welcome to the last day of term 2 as there is a student free day on Friday. We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable mid year break and look forward to seeing you again Term 3.
Picture Plate Fundraiser
We have had a fantastic response to our fundraiser and we thank all the families that have taken part. To date we have raised over $3,000 which will help us to finish the upgrades to the Wobbly Playground as well as purchase other items for use by the school.We are sure you are all as excited as the children to see the finished result.
We are still looking at making the 2020/2021 Entertainment Book available for purchase but the company has experienced some delays in supply.
This year the Entertainment Book is going 100% digital, which means that those who wish to “try before you buy” will receive an activation code that lets them trial their digital membership for 6 weeks. If you decide to purchase your membership, you’ll be able to complete the transaction online. We hope to have activation codes available very soon. Also new for 2020, memberships will be valid for 12 months from time of purchase rather than July to June.

Uniform Shop Help Needed
We are seeking a Uniform Shop co-ordinator to assist with and eventually take over running of our Uniform Shop. This is an important volunteer role which is well supported by the P&C and other volunteers, and is flexible in terms of days required for those with younger children in kindy or day care. If you are interested in finding out more, please reply to this email.

Canteen is welcoming back volunteers in Term 3. It is really important that volunteers cancel and let the canteen know if they are unwell. The canteen will adapt to manage this, and can do a reduced menu that day if needed. Hand washing and hygiene measures will be strictly enforced. Canteen shifts are either half shifts from 8.45am-10.45am or 10.45-1pm, or a full shift 8.45-1pm. Parents volunteering for a half shift receive a free recess for their child, and those volunteering for a full shift receive a free lunch for their child.

Canteen Menu Update
We have made some changes to the way we fill the canteen roster to enable us to provide more fresh salad and sandwich options for students, while still reducing the overall number of volunteers required. Menu changes include more hot meal options, lots of salad options and having theme days when a different food is offered on that day. Icecreams and icy poles will be included on the summer menu. The winter menu includes hot drinks. We have taken pikelets off the menu for this term and will get feedback at the end of term. Pikelet making is very labour intensive and requires a volunteer for a whole shift to make them. We have lots of other options of food which the students have enjoyed. Fruit options have been very popular which is great to see. Ideas for menu items to add are always welcome. The new menu is attached.
