Faction Swimming Carnival Report 2021

The Faction Swimming Carnival took place at HBF Stadium on Friday 12th March for students in Years 4 to 6. The strength and depth of our students’ swimming has once again improved on last year.  We added three extra events to the 2021 program to accommodate a higher number of students nominating to participate in the 50m Butterfly races, which is a credit to those students who trained hard and had a go at a tough event.

Our Year 6 Champion Girl was Audrey L who beat our Runner Up girl Milla T to the top spot by only one point. Ashton G was our Year 6 Champion Boy, winning every individual event he participated in. Our Runner-Up Champion Boy for Year 6 boy was Jeremy F. The Year 5 Champion Girl was Hope M who beat Runner-Up Victoria V by a narrow three points. Cooper W was the Year 5 Champion Boy and the Year 5 Runner-Up Champion Boy was Casey E. Our Year 4 Champion Girl was Harper T who won every event she participated in. The Year 4 Runner-Up Champion Girl was Rayne V. Securing victory as Year 4 Champion Boy with his outstanding performance in the 50m Butterfly was Jayden H. The Year 4 Runner-Up Champion Boy was Nate S.

The winning faction this year was Winter, breaking the Strickland chain of victories over the past three years. Our Faction Leaders did a great job at their first carnival of the year. We would like to thank all of the parents who watched, cheered and helped on the day and those who give their time to support our coaches at swim squad.

Colour blindness means that a person cannot distinguish some colours or see the colours differently to other people. Very few people who are colour blind are ‘blind’ to all colours. Commonly, the colours seen differently are greens, yellows, oranges and reds.
An information leaflet on colour blindness will be distributed to all Pre-primary students in Term One. Please take the time to read the pamphlet.
For more information and see the Colour Blind Awareness and Support Group on http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/~doverton/
If you have any concerns, colour vision testing can be performed by some general practitioners, eye specialists or optometrists.
