Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to those who have completed the Parent Survey. The information provided will inform our future planning, in particular the development of our Business Plan 2022-2024. We will leave the survey open until midday on Friday (26 November). We will then generate a report that the School Board will consider at a special meeting on Monday 29 November.
Kapinara PS Business Plan Survey
This is different from the survey above and should take only a minute to complete. It simply asks you to indicate if you are interested in contributing to the planning or implementation associated with one (or more) of the six focus areas. This might mean attending a single 60-minute brainstorming/planning session. It doesn’t mean being ‘on call’ as a consultant for the next three years ? I invite you to call me if you wish to discuss.
Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund
You may have seen the State Government’s recent announcement regarding funding for the installation of solar panels in schools. Schools such as ours which already have some solar panels are not eligible to apply for funding in the first round. We will be monitoring opportunities to apply in future funding rounds.
Out of School Hours Care
The Y’s licensing agreement ends this year. We are pleased to advise that the selection process for a new OSHC provider has just been completed. We were fortunate to have received proposals from several high quality service providers, with the successful provider being TheirCare. Families currently accessing OSHC will receive information from The Y today or tomorrow, and information about TheirCare within the next few days. There will also be an opportunity to meet with the State Manager of TheirCare within the next week or so. We will all be collaborating to ensure families are able to access Vacation Care programs in January. If you have any questions or concerns regarding OSHC please don’t hesitate to contact me.
This Friday the children in Year 2 (2JJ) will be hosting the assembly. I look forward to seeing some of you there!
School Development Days
The 2022 school development days will be as follows:
Term 2 – Tuesday 26 April 2022
Term 3 – Monday 22 August 2022
Term 4 – Friday 4 November 2022
These are days when students do not attend school – only staff attend.
Personal Requirement Lists
2022 Personal Requirements Lists are now available. Orders placed online before 16 December will receive free delivery. These orders will be delivered the week ending 14 January.
Passtab is our new sign in/sign out system that many families would already be familiar with. The Passtab ipad is situated at the front desk and we ask that families use it in the following situations.
- Collecting unwell or injured students
- Students arriving or leaving where an electronic absence form has not been received by the school
- Classroom volunteers
The Uniform shop would like to advise that there has been a delay in the school bag delivery. Next delivery not expected until December.
