Special requirements: All students are to wear appropriate bathers for swimming in races. As we are using the outdoor pool, please ensure your child is wearing sunscreen (we will give the students an opportunity to reapply when needed). Swimming goggles are strongly advised. This year we would like all participating students to purchase a Kapinara swim cap from our uniform shop. These are yellow and black and are $10 each. They can be purchased through Qkr via the P&C tab. This will need to be a separate payment from the bus payment. We will bring spare caps to the venue to borrow if needed.
The children will hand sanitise before getting on the bus and will be expected to wear a mask whilst on the bus. We have been given instructions about mask requirement for the race, which is detailed below.
| Step 1 | Masks are to be worn up until being called to the starting block. |
| Step 2 | Mask is to be placed into a zip-lock bag (provided by the student with their name and school written on it) and then the zip-lock bag is to be placed into numbered box (lane #) held by a Student Official standing next to the block. |
| Step 3 | Upon exiting the pool the swimmer is to retrieve their mask from the Student Official who will be standing at the pool exit points either side of the pool. |
| Step 4 | Once swimmers have put their mask back on they can return to their school. |
Students are to arrive at school with a towel and wearing their bathers with full school uniform (including hats) over the top and slip-on shoes. Students need to bring healthy snacks (no lollies), lunch and a water bottle. Students will need their full school uniform (including underwear and enclosed shoes) for the remainder of the day after the Carnival has finished. Sadly, parents are not invited to spectate this year, due to capacity limits at HBF. However, there will be a link for parents to access for live streaming, this will be sent out prior to the event.
Bus cost and pool entry: $14.00
Payment and permission is now available through Qkr. (No need to return a hard copy permission slip if using Qkr).
Permission and payment to be received by Monday 4th April 2022.
