Deputy’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to Term 4.

Year 6 School Camp

There was much excitement evident amongst the Year 6 cohort today as they made their final preparations for camp. Students and their teachers are off to Boshack Camp, near Toodyay, leaving first thing in the morning. Students will be challenged to develop and foster a sense of belonging, community, cooperation, friendship and leadership. The camp program is complementary to the Year 6 curriculum and provides students with opportunities to extend their learning in a relevant, practical and supportive environment. The weather forecast looks great and we wish them safe and happy travels.

Shakespeare Rocks

In the last week of Term 3 we were privileged to attend the musical production by the Year 6s under the leadership of Sarina Li. The performance was amazing and the audience was enthralled throughout the entire performance. We have some budding acting talent amongst our students and they kept us entertained with their antics on stage and their catchy musical numbers while keeping us guessing as to who was beneath some of those costumes! It was a joy to be there and the students deservedly received a standing ovation and performed an encore for the audience at the conclusion of the evening. What an amazing memory for these students, and their parents, to take with them as they conclude their primary schooling at Kapinara.

Interschool Athletics Carnival

The interschool athletics carnival took place on Tuesday 24 September 2019 at City Beach Primary School. The competition was won by Wembley Downs with Woodlands in second place and Kapinara in third place. The students trained very hard and showed outstanding commitment in the run up to the event. Their efforts were rewarded with an overall third place as a team.

We had some standout performances from Stephanie W and Chelsea H winning runner up champion girl Year 5 and Year 4 respectively.  Other standout performances on the day were from our 4x100m and 4x75m relay teams. We also excelled in the distance events with Year 3 girls Meg W and Arabella T taking first and second place in the their 400m event, Chelsea H winning the Year 4 400m event and Nicholas S and Steph W finishing third in the 400m and 800m running events. Congratulations are extended to Miss Burrows and the entire team on an outstanding day of good performance and sportsmanship – you made us all very proud!
